The title of largest snake in the world goes to… the green anaconda! Many people have heard of the anaconda, but what is known about this snake?

Also known as the green anaconda, this species lives in the Amazon, in the flooded regions, caves and in the forest always close to the banks of rivers. It’s smaller than you think! In our minds the Sucuri seems to be huge, almost the size of a building, which makes us scared about it, but in fact the largest anaconda recorded to date was just over 6 meters in length.

On the other hand, some reports may be true. Anaconda continues to grow throughout life. The size of an anaconda depends mainly on the conditions of its habitat, such as the amount of food available. In fertile areas of the Amazon rainforest, there may be much larger anacondas, which have never been recorded.

As scary and giant as it is, the anaconda is not a poisonous snake (thank God!), it catches animals that approach it and wrap its body around its prey. Then she squeezes the victim, until the animal dies of suffocation as it is crushed.

And for our relief and happiness the anaconda does not have a preference to eat humans! For an anaconda to attack a person, they must be starving or defending an offspring in the nest. Their favorite food are smaller forest animals, such as fish and birds. But the anaconda also feeds on larger animals, and may even eat an entire capybara!
